This route starts in the nearby village of Monyash. It heads through the picturesque Lathkill Dale, passing views of waterfalls and wildlife before heading up out of the dale and through the fields back towards the village.

This 5 mile route starts in Millers Dale, just a 15 minute drive from the Oak. It starts along the Monsal trail, dipping down along the river and over the picturesque stepping stones before heading back over the fields to re-join the trail.
Starting in Wetton just a 10-15 minute drive from the Oak, this route is just over 3 miles and passes by the fascinating 'Thor's Cave', a cave set into the rocky cliffs which is perfect for exploring!
Spring in the Peak District is a great time for a walk to enjoy the beautiful wild bluebells! This is one of our favourite bluebell walks, it starts in the village of Baslow, heading across fields and down country lanes to pass through a stunning bluebell woods.
Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill, also known as the Dragon's Back Ridge, are two of the most famous limestone hills in the Peak District. They are known for their distinctive shape (hence the Dragon's back name) and the astonishing views they provide over the surrounding countryside. This 4.5 mile route starts from Earl Sterndale, a small village just a couple of miles from the pub.

A 10 minute drive (or under 4 mile walk) from the pub will take you to Hartington, a pretty village known for it’s cheese shop. This 5 and a half mile route takes you along the River Dove, through picturesque Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale and back to Hartington with fabulous views along the way.
As well as the Tissington and High Peak Trails that lie directly next to the pub, the Monsal trail is also nearby. Running from Buxton to Bakewell, this 8.5 mile long disused railway has been converted to a footpath and cycle path through the beautiful countryside with tunnels, viaducts and great views and plenty of places to stop off and explore.
